The Simplest (And Most Effective) Way to Choose Your Next Book
YOUTUBE 📚 CREATOR LAUNCH ACADEMY 📚 PATREON
This will be one of the shortest newsletters I’ve ever sent you guys.
I typically recommend dozens of books per newsletter, and I’m sure you’re getting tons of recommendations from other sources: you’ve got books piling up in your house, on your phone, in your inbox, etc.
Lists upon lists upon lists of interesting books you might want to read at some point.
So how do you choose your next book?
Well this is the month I’ll be finishing my 1,400th book, so I’ve had to choose my next book literally 1,400+ times!
How I do it is relatively simple, and I lay it all out in my latest YouTube video.
This is actually Day 4 of a “tiny experiment” that I’m running right now, where I’m publishing daily videos on YouTube.
It was inspired by a great book I read last month called Tiny Experiments, by Anne-Laure le Cunff, where she recommends that, instead of feeling like you have to set these massively intimidating goals, you can become the “lead scientist of your life” and run a series of tiny experiments instead.
Naturally, I’ll be sharing all my book notes from Tiny Experiments here in this newsletter when they’re ready. But here’s how to choose to your next book.
And here are the first three videos in my own tiny experiment:
I said that this would be the shortest newsletter I’ve ever sent you guys, so to avoid writing a mini-novella I’m going to leave it right here.
But I’m loving this “daily upload” experiment, I’ve got a few more book recommendations below, and I’ll be back next week with even more books!
“What makes us unhappy is to want. Yet if we would learn to cut our wants to nothing, the smallest thing we’d get would be a true gift.”
“An extraordinary life is won on offense, then preserved on defense.”
Inside my private business mastermind, Creator Launch Academy, we’re tackling one nonfiction book per week and implementing its lessons inside our businesses.
This week’s book is Unscripted, by MJ DeMarco, another business book that I’ve read twice, and from which I’ve taken more than five pages of profitable notes. Click here to claim your free trial, and join our business book club for educational content creators!

After achieving my (somewhat meaningless) goal of reading 1,000 books before I turned 30, I set a new (also meaningless but cool) goal of reading 10,000 books. As of today, I’ve read 1,394 books, including 42 books so far this year, and if you’re interested, here’s my Full Reading List.
Forward this to a friend you think would love this book!

There’s also my YouTube channel, where I publish book reviews, reading updates, and more each week.
And if you want to learn how I’ve built an audience of 160,000+ followers across social media, became a full-time creator, and how I’m rapidly growing my audience and my profits in 2025, join us inside Creator Launch Academy and that’s exactly what I’ll teach you — we’d love to have you in the community!
With that said, I hope you enjoyed this edition of The Reading Life, and enjoy the rest of your day!
Until next time…happy reading!
